D Hotel Pasir Salak
The Pasir Salak Historical Complex is located about 40 kilometres from D’ Hotel Seri Iskandar. It is a memorial complex which commemorates the extraordinary history of Pasir Salak and the people of Perak. The Pasir Salak area is special place which play an important role in the development of the history of Malaysia as an independent nation. It can be said that the origin of the flames of the Malay nationalism started in Pasir Salak.
D Hotel River Terapin

RIVER TERRAPIN BREEDING CENTRE

This centre is located at Kampung Bota Kanan in the Perak Tengah District, about 11 kilometres from D’ Hotel Seri Iskandar. The centre was established in 1968 and is built at the same location where Sultan Mudzaffar Shah II released river terrapins at a ceremony held there in the 1630’s during his reign as Sultan of Perak. The purpose of the establishment of this centre is to conserve river terrapin populations by incubating eggs collected and hatching them at the centre.
Visitors to the centre can visit several ponds where adult female terrapins as well as young terrapins that are under two years of age are kept. Visitors can explore the interpretive centre and watch a video that provides information on river terrapins and conservation efforts to save them. Visitors may have the opportunity to help release young terrapins into natural habitats of Sungai Perak.

PAPAN CASCADES/WATERFALL

The town of Papan is located about 21 kilometres from D’ Hotel. It was once a busy tin mining town in the Kinta Valley. Now it is a scenic ghost town, famous for the memorial to Sybil Kathigasu. When you follow the main street out of the town, you will see a sign for Hutan Lipur Papan. The road runs along a small river. The difference between a cascade and a fall is cascade is a short, steep drop in stream bed elevation, often marked by boulders and agitated white water while waterfall is a sudden near vertical drop in a stream as it flows over rock.

TAMAN HERBA PAPAN

The Papan Herbal Garden is located in Sbhg. Kompt. 88 and 89 Hutan Simpan Kledang Saiong, Papan Perak which is about 22 kilometres from D’ Hotel Seri Iskandar. The area is 7.2 hectares and has a total of 186 species of herbaceous plants for various uses such as medicine, aromatherapy, and cosmetics, including ulam and spices. This Herbal garden is also equipped with facilities such as information centre, camping site/jungle tracking/family day, open hall (Pancawarna), Interpretive Centre, surau, toilets, rest cottages, forest trails, canteen and accommodation (dormitory).

TIN DREDGE MUSEUM

The tin dredge in Batu Gajah along Jalan Tanjung Tualang is the last witness to the prosperity of tin mining in Malaysia. It is located about 26 kilometres from D’ Hotel Seri Iskandar. Also known as Tanjung Tualang Dredge No 5 (TT5), this 4500 tonne giant floating on the excavation site is a precious remain that tells the history of Malaysia, and especially so for Perak, the home of many tin mines. ”Perak” literally means silver in Malay, which was thought to resemble the silver color of tin.

KELLIE’S CASTLE

Kellie’s Castle (sometimes also called Kellie’s Folly) is located around 26.9 kilometres form D’ Hotel Seri Iskandar. The unfinished, ruined mansion, was built by a Scottish planter named William Kellie Smith. According to differing accounts, it was either a gift for his wife or a home for his son.
